Icom ID-5100E VHF/UHF Digital Transceiver
System Overview
The ID-5100E mobile transceiver is a dual-band transceiver for 2 m and 70 cm. The operating modes supported are FM and D-Star as well as AM reception in the aeronautical band. Like other true dual-banders, the ID-5100E offers two receivers, so you can monitor two frequencies at the same time. New: This is also possible digitally – two D-Star frequencies can be monitored at the same time! Of course, the classic combinations of analog/analog and analog/digital are also possible.
The operation of D-Star on the ID-5100E is taken over from the ID-51E with the function of the “Home” button. The repeater lists can be conveniently maintained and updated via an SD card. QSOs can also be recorded. The touch display simplifies operation, which is particularly beneficial for safety during mobile operation.
With a width of 182 mm, a height of 81.5 mm, and a depth of only 24.7 mm as well as only 260 g, the control unit of the IC-5100 is handy and yet not too small, but the main unit is compact with 150 mm x 40 mm x 173 mm and 1.3 kg and finds space everywhere. The power supply of 13.8 V / 13 A is possible with a mains adapter, but also by battery mobile or on a field day or expedition.

Intuitive Touch Screen Operation
The intuitive touchscreen interface provides quick and smooth operation. The large 5.5-inch display (320×128 pixels) responds naturally to the touch allowing you to change settings, enter frequencies, and edit memory channels with ease.
DV/DV Dual watch
The ID-5100E can receive both FM/FM and FM/DV mode signals simultaneously. Two DV mode signals can be monitored for receive on either channel. You can check other repeaters or other channel activities while waiting for the main repeater.
* Main band audio has priority if two DV signals come in at the same time.
Integrated GPS Receiver
The ID-5100E has an integrated GPS receiver in the controller and shows its own position, course, speed, and altitude on the display. The GPS position information can be used for exchanging position reports, tracing the GPS log, and searching for nearby repeater sites.
DV/FM Repeater List Function
The DV/FM repeater list function assists you in accessing nearby repeaters, even when you are visiting an area for the first time. The function searches for a nearby repeater using the repeater memories and GPS position information.
*To use the automatic repeater list function, the position data of the repeater is required. The ID-5100E will be shipped with a limited number of repeater memories preprogramme
Dplus Reflector Linking
Dplus reflector link commands are added to the DR function to allow easy reflector operation. Use Reflector, link/unlink to Reflector, echo test, and repeater information commands are selectable.
SD Card Slot for Voice and Data Storage
When used with an SD card, the SD card can store various contents including voice memory, DV auto reply message, TX voice message, QSO log, RX history log, and GPS log data. Memory channels, repeater memories, and other personal settings can be saved to the SD card and can be loaded to the transceive
VS-3 Bluetooth® Headset
The optional Bluetooth® headset, VS-3 provides hands-free communication and can remotely control the ID-5100E with three programmable buttons.
*Optional UT-133/A Bluetooth® unit must be installed in the ID-5100E.
RS-MS1A Android™ Application

The RS-MS1A allows you to wirelessly connect the ID-5100E and remotely set DR functions, link with a map application, and send/receive messages over the DV mode. In addition, pictures taken by the Android™ device can be transmitted in the DV Fast Data mode or DV mode.
DV Fast Data Mode*
By using data in place of voice frames, the ID-5100E can transfer data 3.5 times faster (3480 bps) than in the conventional DV mode (with voice).
Optional Active Noise Canceling Microphone
The optional active noise canceling microphone HM-209 can automatically reduce noise in extremely noisy environments and assist in transmitting clear and accurate audio.
