System Overview
The Standard Horizon HX300E is a 5-watt portable two-way transceiver, all transceivers are customized, and it also has emergency channel 16 which can be instantly selected from any channel by pressing the switch.

- The HX300E includes the following features: Memory Scanning, Priority Scanning, Dual and Tri-watch, an easy-to-read large LCD, Battery Life displayed on the LCD, the Water Enabled Light which blinks automatically when the radio comes in contact with water even if the radio is turned off, and a transmit Time-Out Timer (TOT).
- The HX300E transmitter provides a full 5 Watts of transmit power and also is selectable to 1 watts to assist the user in ensuring maximum battery life.
- The Standard Horizon HX300E supports ATIS mode which is used in the inland waterways of Europe.

- If dropped in the water the radio floats face up and flashes a red LED bar at the base of the front panel (even if the radio is switched off).

Compact Case Design
The compact, ergonomic case design is a result of the new small, high-capacity 1800 mAh 3.7V Lithium-Ion battery. This gives the radio a small case design yet remains light enough to float face-up if dropped in the water.
Water-activated Flashing LED
If the Standard Horizon HX300E accidentally goes overboard a large bright flashing RED LED is automatically activated to help locate and retrieve the radio at night.

An intuitive menu system allows easy access to all of the setup functions of the radio, making it easy to customize settings based on the preferences of the user
