System Overview
The Motorola DTR650 two-way radio features the next generation of two-way radio technology. The DTR650 uses 900 MHz digital frequency hopping technology to ensure crisp, clear, and private communications. This technology uses a different set of frequencies than standard two-way radios, and can be used without purchasing a license!
The DTR650™ digital on-site portable radio delivers all the great features of the DTR550 along with managerial capabilities. The radio features operates at 900 MHz and offers enhanced communication options such as Digital One-to-Many Calling (Public Group Call and Private Group Call). It also provides enhanced performance with greater coverage — up to 350,000 square feet or 30 floors (with long whip antenna) — as well as longer battery life and digital audio quality that is clear and crisp within coverage areas.
The range is not a problem with the Motorola DTR series. Typically, the DTR-650 provides up to 40% more coverage than a standard UHF two-way radio. As with all radios, coverage will vary based on terrain and conditions. The DTR650 also allows you to define up to 50 public and 20 private groups. Call an entire group at once, like with standard radios, or you can call an individual radio!
