VSL’s teams on the Starah and Shaqra onshore wind power projects work at remote sites, far from reliable mobile coverage.
THE CHALLENGE
Wind farm sites are spread over large, remote areas where cellular networks are weak or missing — yet site teams still need to reach each other and their offices at any time.
WHAT WE DID
We supplied Thuraya XT-Lite satellite phones with SIM cards and refill vouchers — 3 units for Starah and 2 for Shaqra — activated and ready to use on arrival.
THE RESULT
Reliable voice communication at both wind power sites, independent of local mobile coverage.
